Welcome to the world of custom made. These "layered" Shads are made one at a time. Each color is applied by hand to each mold cavity is such a way that they really do look layered. The three-color shads all have a unique belly color called "chameleon". It changes color based on whatever color the water is that you place it in. The shads have hand mixed colors that are not factory staples. These are original and have specific recipes that have been developed here at Crappie Tom Tackle and are registered under the trademark. Most of these colors are based on transparent colorants and each has its own internal glow created thru the use of "hi lites". Hi lites help draw out the depth of the colors and provide reflectivity from within, much like that seen on actual baitfish. Holding one of these baits up to sunlight will offer a whole new meaning to the color you see primarily. Those shads of solid coloring will appear to have an electric core while the shads having the chameleon belly will seem almost alive in your hand. This shad series unlike anything found on store shelves. Orders are filled as they are received. Since these baits are not stock-piled, please allow five days for production and shipping from the time the order arrives to us. These baits are truely "made for you" and no two will ever be alike...just as in nature. It is a recommendation that these baits be fished on jigs having at least a size 4 hook. Also, because these baits have eyes on them, a plain head or a simple painted head is all that is required. 6 months of field testing has shown that crappies will hammer this bait using heads without eyes and that the eyes in these baits up the hitting percentages greatly.
